Feline Behaviour Coach Launches Innovative “Behavior Team” to End Professional Isolation in Toronto, Canada’s Pet Industry
Toronto, Canada — March 1, 2026 — The days of pet professionals working in a vacuum are over. Feline Behaviour Coach is proud to announce the formation of a local & Pet Professional Guild (PPG) Behavior Team, a collaborative initiative designed to “Stop, think, and change the way we work.”
In an industry often fragmented by professional isolation, this new team bridges the gap between veterinarians, trainers, and all pet care providers to create a seamless ecosystem of care. By moving away from “working in a vacuum” and toward a model of mutual support, Feline Behaviour Coach is ensuring that every referral is backed by trust and every pet is supported by a circle of expertise.
A Message from the Guild
The Behavior Teams program was developed by the Pet Professional Guild (PPG) to facilitate synergy between behavior experts and pet professionals. Niki Tudge, Founder and President of the Pet Professional Guild, emphasizes the necessity of this shift:
“Let’s stop this behavior-changing game we find ourselves in and begin to work with clients and colleagues in a more collaborative model yielding success for all parties! It’s not about control or compliance—it’s about creating a community rooted in positive reinforcement and collective success.”
Solving the “Regulation Gap” Through Collaboration
The pet industry faces significant hurdles, from a shortage of veterinary behaviorists to a “practical disconnect” between academic diagnoses and real-world training. The Behavior Teams program was built specifically to solve these problems.
“Working with complex behavior cases can be emotionally and physically draining when you’re navigating the obstacle course alone,” says Krista, Certified Cat Behaviour Consultant. “Our mission is Collaboration Over Competition. By following the Behavior Teams’ ethical standards and best practice policies, we are providing a standardized, best-practice approach that ensures humane support for every client.”
A Synergy of Experts
The newly formed team focuses on four key pillars to improve animal welfare in the Toronto area & virtually:
Effective Collaboration: A working model where veterinarians and trainers work in tandem rather than in silos.
Ethical Standards: Guarantees that all behavior modification is rooted in positive reinforcement and science-based methods.
Resource Sharing: Utilizing shared manuals and protocols to ensure referrals are appropriate and competent.
Growth & Supervision: Providing mentorship for less-experienced professionals to handle cases safely and effectively.
