Our Training Approach – Positive, Humane, and Trust-Building

At Feline Behaviour Coach, we’re all about building a positive relationship with your cat, using methods that focus on trust and kindness. Our training will always be rooted in reward-based techniques that promote long-term learning and emotional well-being.

As part of our commitment to ethical training, I ask that you refrain from using any punishment-based practices that can harm or confuse your cat. These methods can create fear and anxiety, ultimately hindering progress. Please avoid the following:

  • Physical punishment (e.g., hitting, tapping, or any form of force)

  • Scat Mats or devices that use electric shocks

  • Scruffing (which is stressful and undermines trust)

  • Squirt bottles (they can be frightening, bruise your relationship and are ineffective)

  • Instead, we’ll focus on positive reinforcement—rewarding your cat for desired behaviours, which leads to more effective and lasting results. This approach fosters trust and helps build a stronger, happier bond with your feline friend.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Cancellation/Reschedule Policy:

We understand that life happens, and sometimes things come up unexpectedly. Here’s how we handle cancellations and rescheduling, keeping things flexible yet fair:

First-time Cancellations or Rescheduling: No worries at all! For your first cancellation or rescheduling request, there will be no fee, no matter when it happens before the consultation. We’re happy to accommodate you and will work together to find a new time that works best!

More than 48 hours before your session: There’s no cancellation fee, and we’ll be happy to reschedule at no additional cost.

Within 24-48 hours: We understand plans can change quickly, but we ask for a 50% cancellation fee to help manage our schedule.

Within 24 hours or no-show: We know emergencies happen, but after the first last-minute cancellation, we’ll need to charge the full session fee to keep things fair for everyone.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to adjust your appointment—we’re here to support you and will always do our best to accommodate.

​Payment Terms & Fees

To keep everything clear and simple, here are our payment details:

  • Payment is due at the time of booking or no later than 48 hours before your scheduled session.

  • We accept payments via PayPal (credit card) or bank transfer.

  • Once we’ve received your payment, you’ll receive an invoice for your records.

Late payments may incur additional charges, so please make sure to settle your payment promptly.

Payment and Refund Policy

Once payment is made, you are committing to the full program. We kindly ask for your understanding as no refunds are offered once services have been rendered, whether that’s training sessions, consultations, or any part of the program.

No refunds for missed, cancelled, or rescheduled appointments.

We understand that life happens, and if you need to adjust your schedule, we’re happy to offer a gift certificate for the remaining value of your session or program. This certificate can be used for a future appointment or transferred to someone else, providing flexibility.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out—we’re here to support you every step of the way!

Code of Conduct

Our sessions are about respect and collaboration. If you or anyone involved in the program behaves aggressively or unprofessionally, we reserve the right to terminate services immediately. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

We want to create a positive, safe, and productive environment for both you and your cat, and we’re here to help every step of the way!

Privacy & Confidentiality

Your privacy is important to us. All details you share with us—whether it’s personal information or information about your cat—will remain confidential. We will only share details with other professionals (like vets or specialists) if necessary to move forward with your program.

Limitation of Liability

While we’ll provide the best care and expertise possible, Feline Behaviour Coach is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from our services. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific services rendered.

Dispute Resolution

In the unlikely event of a dispute, we prefer to resolve things amicably through mediation. If that doesn’t work, we’ll move to binding arbitration. Our goal is to keep everything as smooth and stress-free as possible!

Amendments & Updates

We reserve the right to update or amend our policies at any time. If any changes occur, we’ll notify you and provide the updated version. Continuing services after any update will indicate your acceptance of the revised terms.
