Feline Behaviour Coach – Client Terms & Policies

Our Training Approach – Positive, Humane, and Trust-Building

At Feline Behaviour Coach, we believe in building strong, trust-based relationships between you and your cat. Our approach is always grounded in reward-based, positive reinforcement techniques that foster lasting behavioural change and emotional well-being.

As part of this commitment, we ask that you avoid punishment-based methods, including:

  • Physical punishment (e.g., hitting, tapping, or using force)

  • Scat Mats or any shock-based devices

  • Scruffing

  • Squirt bottles

These practices can create fear, damage your bond, and hinder your cat’s progress. Instead, we focus on reinforcing the behaviours you want to see more of—building trust and mutual understanding.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

We understand that life happens. Here’s how we handle schedule changes:

  • First-time cancellation or reschedule: No fee, regardless of notice

  • More than 48 hours’ notice: No fee; we’re happy to reschedule

  • 24–48 hours’ notice: A 50% cancellation fee applies

  • Less than 24 hours’ notice or no-show: Full session fee applies (after the first occurrence)

Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to adjust your appointment. We’ll always do our best to accommodate you.

Payment Terms & Fees

  • Payment is due at the time of booking or no later than 48 hours before your scheduled session

  • Accepted methods: PayPal, Stripe (credit card), or bank transfer

  • You will receive an invoice once payment is received

  • Late payments may incur an administrative fee

Payment and Refund Policy

  • Once payment is made, you are committing to the full program

  • No refunds are provided for used sessions or services rendered

  • No refunds are given for missed, cancelled, or rescheduled appointments

  • If rescheduling is necessary, we offer a gift certificate equal to the remaining value. It can be used for a future appointment or transferred to someone else

Biweekly Check-Ins – Essential to Your Program

Biweekly check-in sessions are a core part of your behaviour program. These:

  • Begin two weeks after your initial consultation

  • Continue every two weeks for the duration of your program

  • Must be used within the program timeline and cannot be carried over

  • They are designed to monitor progress, troubleshoot challenges, and adjust your cat’s plan as needed

Consistent participation in these sessions enhances outcomes and ensures the most benefit from your program.

Important Medical Considerations

Some behavioural issues may have a medical cause. Before beginning a behaviour plan, please consult your veterinarian to rule out any underlying health concerns. If a medical referral is needed, we’ll support you in coordinating care with your vet team.

Code of Conduct

Our sessions are built on respect and collaboration. We reserve the right to end services immediately if aggressive or unprofessional conduct occurs. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

We are here to support you and your cat in a positive, productive environment.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Your privacy matters. All information shared with Feline Behaviour Coach—personal or case-related—will remain confidential. Information will only be shared with professionals (e.g., veterinarians) if necessary and with your consent.

Limitation of Liability

Feline Behaviour Coach is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from services rendered. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific services.

Dispute Resolution

In the rare event of a disagreement, we will first seek to resolve it through respectful communication and mediation. If needed, the matter will proceed to binding arbitration.

Amendments & Updates

We reserve the right to update or amend these policies at any time. Notice will be provided, and continued participation in services indicates acceptance of the revised terms.

Thank you for choosing Feline Behaviour Coach. We’re honoured to support you and your cat’s behavioural wellness, and we look forward to working with you.
